Blast from the past 21

When out on a work team, I often put some details up on a personal Facebook post.
Generally, these were before the days of CCT social media and the Blog Posts we have now. As we commence the even more serious work of phase 1B, this is a post from April 28th 2014.
At t’canal today spent an interesting afternoon installing bits of paddle gear at Newtown lock. The square hole will have a sliding ‘gate’ for water control into the lock. The vertical wooden ‘Jack Post’ is very heavy and holds the winding gear. It’s held to the lock wall by 6 bolts drilled nearly 12 inches into the brickwork.
