Brimscombe Bookshop Murals Transform the Canal Corridor
Our Brimscombe Charity Book & Music Shop has taken on a colourful new look thanks to the incredible talents of local artists Mint & Mabel, who have now completed the first of two stunning community murals.
The project, delivered in partnership with Cotswold Canals Connected, celebrates the wildlife, heritage and natural beauty of the Cotswold Canals while creating a vibrant and welcoming destination for visitors to Brimscombe.
Over the weekend, we were delighted to welcome so many visitors to our Open Day, where members of the public enjoyed watching the artists at work, meeting our volunteers, browsing the bookshop and learning more about the work of the Cotswold Canals Trust. Cotswold Canals Connected also hosted a fantastic community art activity, giving visitors the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative artwork that will be displayed along the canal in the future.
The second mural, created by Nat Morley, is now nearing completion and will soon bring the opposite wall of the bookshop to life with a striking celebration of the canal’s rich biodiversity, including a fascinating glimpse above and below the water’s surface.
Our Chair, David Hagg, visited the artists during the Open Day to personally thank them for their outstanding work.
