- The bridges have been designed to carry unrestricted traffic including all expected abnormal loads for the next 120 years
- the scheme will help provide a traffic free route via the towpath for walkers/cyclists
- The south carriageway has had to be lifted by approx. 800mm, and north carriageway by 300mm to accommodate the necessary headroom for canal boats underneath.
- Approximately 11,000m3 of earth has been removed from the roundabout and reused on another site. A further 3,000m3 is expected to be taken off site and reused.
- telecommunications cables have been carefully repositioned and supported, helping keep the county connected particularly during covid-19.
