CCC Laptops for Schools
Dear fellow Canal Volunteers,
Lois Francis and I have created a project to help provide laptops to children who need them, in the current pandemic. Our focus is children and young people in the canal corridor. We are working with Cotswold Canals Connected Delivery Team to promote this project on various websites and Facebook sites. We thought it would be sensible to approach our fellow volunteers directly. The words below describe what we are about:
Do you have an unwanted laptop sitting in a cupboard or under your desk?
If you do, you can assist local schools to help their students cope with the current school closure and home schooling.
This scheme is being led by Lois Francis and Val Kirby. Both of are Trustees of the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation, members of the Cotswold Canals Trust and supporters of Cotswold Canals Connected, the project to complete the restoration of the Stroudwater Navigation.
Together they will arrange for the collection and delivery of donated computers.
Dave Kruse at Stroud’s Webworks has kindly offered to check each donated computer, and both Stroud and Stonehouse Town Councils have offered space in their offices to store machines that are ready for distribution. Rodborough Parish Council is also keen to work with us.

We will follow up any donations with the offer of educational material about our local canals, their history and their restoration to equip and encourage the next generation of canal volunteers.
If any of you have a spare laptop that you would like to donate, please contact me and I will arrange for it to be collected.
