After loading the three pumps and the last of the piping onto Delilah the Griffith guys connected the generator to the pump sets and carried out a trial start up which proved successful. We then, pushed by Margaret, travelled up to the Ryeford lock where the barge will stay until after the Ocean bridge works have been completed.
In the event of heavy rainfall the pumps will be used to drop the level of the pound between the lock and the Ocean bund by pumping over the lock into the pound above the lock and Ebley flood gates.
