An Evening With… Tim Coghlan

Join us at Stroud Brewery for an evening with Tim Coghlan, who will share stories from his work at Braunston Marina, the history of the Braunston Historic Narrowboat Rally, and anecdotes from the show, including how he and his team bring this much-loved waterways event together each year.

📅 Tuesday 21 April | 7:00pm (with an interval)
📍 Stroud Brewery

Tim was the driving force behind the award-winning restoration of Braunston Marina in the late 1980s and has organised canal shows at the venue since 1991. For the past two decades, these have taken place as the Braunston Historic Narrowboat Rally, celebrating the rich heritage of Britain’s inland waterways and the beautifully restored historic boats that attend.

Held annually at the heart of the waterways network, the rally attracts scores of historic boats and thousands of visitors from across the country, while also raising funds for a number of charities.

This year the rally will be officially opened by TV music mogul and steam enthusiast Pete Waterman, aboard the steam boat President, built in 1909 and returning to Braunston for the first time since its recent overhaul.

Doors open at 6:45pm in the first-floor function room. Drinks and food are available from the main bar downstairs.

Tickets £5 – available online or on the door
(pre-book to avoid disappointment).
