Harper’s Field gets a new covered wood store

As part of the recent clear-up a quantity of woodworking timber was delivered to Harpers Field (where else!) for storage, but unlike the unprocessed logs this really needs storing under cover top prevent it degrading. Steve P decided that we could probably build one from the materials lying around in the field, so started work to design and build one. The basic frame was made from assorted (old!) scaffolding poles along with 2 frames from a scaffold tower which weren’t much use on their own, and soon with some help from Will and Ray the basic structure had been built sized by the length of poles/roofing sheets and width of the scaffold tower frames.
Monday saw Will, Ian and Steve return to the field to complete the structure with the roof being designed and built again using the available materials.
By lunchtime the structure had been completed and loaded up with the remaining timber, leaving space for more deliveries which are sure to come from somewhere!
The team then went back to Western Depot to help Vince, Chris and Bob H with the now well practiced task of tree and bush clearance using the mini digger in preparation for the planned expansion of Western Depot which will be continued next week.
