A38 Canal Bridges project named as finalist in prestigious awards
We are delighted that the A38 Canal Bridges project has been announced as a finalist in the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) South West Civil Engineering Awards 2021.
The project was a great example of successful partnership working, having been inspired by the Cotswold Canals Trust, funded by Highways England and delivered by Gloucestershire County Council through contractors Alun Griffiths.
It aimed to deliver the construction of a canal through the A38 Whitminster roundabout, with two new bridges, a canal channel and towpath.
Construction began in December 2019 and it was completed in November last year.
It is one of 10 finalists in the ICE South West Civil Engineering Awards 2021, which showcases the best civil engineering work in the region.
The public can also choose their favourite project from the shortlist in The People’s Choice Award.
