Monday on the Canal

The end of the year and I can celebrate a very enjoyable year working as a volunteer on the canal. During that time I qualified as a skipper on Margaret, Goliath and Wookie.
The sunny summer months enticed me to enjoy a spell on Weedie.
Working on Patricia with the dredging crew and an abundance of biscuits, drinks and thanks for the hot sausages on a cold morning.
A couple of days on Wookie with lots of hard physical work convinced me that skippering the tugs was really my main choice with my love of boat handling.
Today we did a trip down to the Ocean checking on the way that all the boats were securely moored for the Christmas break.
It was lovely see the swan family still together at The Ocean.
Thanks to everyone who has made my journey so enjoyable and all the knowledge passed on from those who have spent so much time working on canals.
I look forward to 2020 and spending time with you all again.
I would like to wish everyone a Wonderful Christmas and prosperous New Year ahead.
