New Sponsored Bollard Revealed
New Sponsored Bollard Revealed

On Thursday morning at Blunder Lock, the presentation of a new bespoke bollard was made to Paul Blick, a representative from ABB Limited, Oldends Lane, Stonehouse. The bollard records the companies significant legacy to the local community over many decades.
ABB have generously donated a water flowmeter instrument to the CCT, which will be installed to record water extracted from the mill pond at Brimscombe, which is syphoned into Gough’s Orchard Lock to feed the top pounds of the canal. It will also satisfy our requirement to record the water taken as evidence to the Environment Agency.

It is hoped that this is the early phase of what, in time, will become a growing series of bespoke bollards along our canal recording industries that have supported the local area over the years, providing an interesting and educational trail for all to enjoy, old and young, on foot or just passing by in their narrowboat.
