Our latest Mud Hopper has landed

Everything went to plan today, concluding the efforts of the B.A.T. Squad, with the delivery to Dudbridge of the third 50ft mud hopper from Birmingham.
With the crane in position in advance, it was a relatively quick job to park the trailer and prepare the slings to undertake the lift . Conditions were ideal with full sun and light winds. Over the wall, a Tug awaited the hopper for the onward west to Ryeford.
The hopper is of the same design as the previous two recovered from the Caldon Canal last year. With a set of three, maximum productivity in dredging is possible. These shorter hoppers permit them to be taken trough our locks without the need to separate them from the Tug. Together with the three 70 footers, we are very well equipped to attack the considerable amount dredging programmed in the restoration plan.
