Restoration
Look what they dredged up! Our expanding fleet of dredging machines and barges to restore and maintain the canal.  On Thursday 31st October 2019, Cotswold Canals Trust will launch 3 boats into the canal between Eastington and Dudbridge.  The Dredger ‘No.5’ once known as ‘Augustus Gloop’, (due to how much mud she can dredge from the canal bed) and two mud barges recently Acquired by the charity. Will be craned into the canal ready for an army of volunteers to carry on and increase their efforts to make the canal navigable once more.
Dredger being lifted out for maintenance
CCT volunteers are hoping to get started soon on dredging the canal near Stroud Brewery with one mud barge being launched nearby. Greg Pilley, Managing Director of Stroud Brewery said “This brings us the opportunity for water travel to the Brewery.
