Project Dredgersaurus – Fetch the shades!

The engine room has taken a seismic step forward with the application of white paint to the walls and all the floor plates stripped clean with wire brushing, degreased and applied with a coat of red oxide paint, followed by the first coat of the grey floor paint. When the sun is shining, the metal surfaces get quite hot, so some of the paint, we believe is as good as stove enamelled!
Bob is sporting a trendy home made apron fashioned from a ‘one careful owner’ fine rubber backed floor mat, secured about the waist with light duty rope! (Extreme bespoke PPE)
It is a great pleasure and satisfaction to now have the area clean and (very) bright. It is now ready to accept back the Lister engine.
Over in the yard, there has been progress on a couple of other jobs. Firstly, the window frames have been cleaned, stripped of old sealant and given a couple of coats of white paint. They now look a lot smarter. Secondly, we require a couple of new roof hatches for the engine and facilities cabins.
The frames have been cut and welded and new hatches formed from sheet steel. There remains the hinges and locking furniture to design, manufacture & fit.
The door frames and doors will be fitted once the cabins are back on the boat.
The constructive phase of the project is far more rewarding than all that filthy prep’ work!
