Volunteering – Professional and Technical Services

Professional and Technical Services
Support the Cotswold Canals Trust with expert advice and specialist skills across all phases of canal restoration. Opportunities include engineering, planning, environmental management, surveying, communications, GIS, and more.
Volunteers help with long-term projects such as water management, reservoir planning, and the renovation of historic structures like Sapperton Tunnel.

I’ve been volunteering with the Trust since 2018, I worked as an in-house lawyer before retirement. Volunteering gives me a great balance – something familiar from my career, but without full-time commitment. I live in Bristol, so it also gives me a good reason to visit the canal area. There’s plenty of variety, and I stay as busy as I want to be.
