It was good to make the best of the good weather on offer today, to get out on the cut. For myself, it was an opportunity to keep fresh in operating Goliath, the skills that have been picked up from months of training are, after-all, perishable if not used. For Salvatore Magalotti, it was an introduction to boat operations on the canal under the watchful eye of Nick Carter. Salvatore took to it like a duck to water, which is perhaps unsurprising considering his experience on ocean going vessels.
