Weedie at work – Ham Mill Lock

Weedies journey continued today and we moved on towards Ham Mill lock.
After some cutting weed into Griffin lock we passed through the lock with little difficulty with plenty of water going down the bypass weir before emptying.
Things became more interesting after Jubilee bridge where the rushes have grown considerably.
Thick weed was easily cleared ,but 100 metre before the lock things became bumpy with the bung filling and construction work has left a depth of just 200mm in places.
But we did reach the lock gates leaving a weed free channel behind.
