Winter Concert Raises £992.50 for Canal Restoration
The Cotswold Canals Trust Winter Concert was a wonderful success, raising £992.50 to support our ongoing restoration work.
Held in the beautiful St Cyr’s Church, Stonehouse, the evening brought the community together for a warm, festive celebration of music. Our Chair, David Hagg, compered the event, guiding the audience through a programme of Christmas and winter-themed performances.
We were treated to stunning renditions from Cadenza and the North Nibley Community Choir, whose harmonies filled the church with seasonal cheer. The concert concluded with a joyful audience singalong of Away in a Manger and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, accompanied by Cadenza’s own Sylvia on the church organ.
St Cyr’s Church provided tea, coffee, and homemade cakes during the interval, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Thanks to kind donations, we were also able to offer four hampers as raffle prizes – a lovely bonus enjoyed by all.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Rowan from North Nibley Community Choir and Mike for their organisation and musical direction, to David Hagg for hosting, and to CCT team members Lisa and Gemma, as well as volunteer Brian, for their invaluable help throughout the evening.
With such a brilliant turnout and fantastic support, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for Winter 2026!
